Dancing in Music

This week in the music room the 3rd Graders were working on learning a dance game. It was tons of fun, but they were also working on listening to music cues, singing technique, and moving on the beat. Great job 3rd Grade!

Author visit!

We were so lucky to have guest authors, Jean and Larry Clausen and Michel Tigan, visit our school today! They have written two books, Ahh, Water and Green Wise Kids. Composing 4th Grade Masterpeices

Students in 4th grade have been working very hard in music the last couple weeks. They are composing 8 measure(32 beat) songs! They started with a poem, added rhythm and pitch, and are now moving it all to a staff. They will practice and play them on their recorders and record their songs.
They have been doing a wonderful job showing cooperation and perseverance during this unit!

Egyptian Amulets


3rd grade created amulets inspired by ancient Egyptian amulets found in Pharoah Tutenkamen's tomb.

Kindergarten Skating Away in Music

Kindergartners learned a game in music. They sang a song while pretending to be skaters.
They also have been working on keeping a steady beat to many speeds of music. 

Folk Dancing in Music

3rd and 4th graders had the chance to learn a folk dance in their classes. Folk dances not only help with keeping beat, but also sequencing a pattern and listening to changes in music. They loved learning these dances.







Jump Rope For Heart

Reminder: Mound View students will be participating in a Jump Rope for Heart Event on February 11 and 12 during their physical education classes! All money raised benefits the American Heart Association! Keep up the great work Mound View! #woofwoof
